UN urges Philippines to legalize prostitution, do you agree?

The Philippines and other Asian countries should decriminalize sex-related jobs in order to provide sex workers access to basic rights and to control the spread of sexually transmitted infections especially HIV, a new United Nations report said.

"The legal recognition of sex work as an occupation enables sex workers to claim benefits, to form or join unions and to access work-related banking, insurance, transport and pension schemes," the report dubbed "Sex Work and the Law in Asia and the Pacific" showed.

It added that "in decriminalized contexts, the sex industry can be subject to the same general laws regarding workplace health and safety and anti-discrimination protections as other industries." Decriminalization, the report said, involves the repeal of laws criminalizing sex work, being clients to sex workers or engaging in activities associated with sex work.

Berocca's Party Experience on Full Blast with Celebrities

Berocca's party on Full Blast last October 3 at Maxim's Hotel was a huge success!  Aside from delicious foods served to us and celebrities rubbing elbows with me (ahem), lots of gift packs and surprises were given away.  That party is one of a kind experience I will treasure in my heart.

Though the rain didn't stop that night as if it wanted to join the party, still, we all enjoyed the night dozed off with Berocca.

On "Full Blast" with Berocca

I know nothing about Berocca until last Friday when Ms.Jen introduced it to me. With a very brief discussion, I understand the essentials of Berocca to my health and what it can do to  my everyday life.

Though it helps me cure my colds last weekend, still, it's a misconception that we should  take Berocca only when we got colds.  Actually Berocca is good for everyday consumption because it is a supplemental vitamins that helps to keep our body more active and alert.  Berocca is clinically proven combination of B vitamins, vitamin C and essential minerals like calcium, magnesium and zinc, that works together to improve brain and nerve performance.

Foods that are good to Humans but not to our Dogs

We consider our dogs as our best friend, but that doesn't make them human. Many of us dog owners make the mistake of thinking that a healthy diet for us is also a healthy diet for our pet. Although a few table scraps every once in a while won't hurt, there are a few things that should be treated with caution.

Why Dog Vomit, its Causes and Solutions

Anyone who has had a dog has heard that dreaded noise – the sound of a vomiting dog. Due to my dog's vomiting two days ago, I researched for its reason and some solutions.  And here's what I found.

credit to owner :)
Vomiting in dog is normal and generally is nature's way of ridding the body of an unwanted food or foreign objects the dog may have ingested.  Dogs can vomit yellow bile, food, clear and/or foamy liquid, blood and grass or a combination of the above. Periodic vomiting is not a reason for concern as long as the dog has a healthy appetite, maintaining an ideal weight and their energy levels are normal.  While vomiting occasionally may not be an indication of a serious illness, any occurrence of repeated vomiting, especially if accompanied by lethargy, diarrhea or other behavioral changes, should receive prompt medical attention.

There are three stages in the vomiting process: nausea, retching and the final vomiting. The main concern for the health of a vomiting dog are dehydration causing an imbalance in electrolyte levels, a disparity in the balance of acid to base levels in the body and aspirated pneumonia.

My Dog Vomits, is he sick?

When we got home last night, I saw my dog's vomit on the floor, it is foamy white in color.  I panicked, though that was not the first time my dog vomits but because I noticed him really unwell.  Unlike his previous vomits, he's still playful and alert.  But last night, his ears dropped and according to his nanny (naks) he did not eat his dinner.  One more thing that is strange to him, he did not welcome us home :(

Tips to achieve a Healthier Feet

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

Taking that first step means keeping one's feet healthy and protected so that one can reach the destination in good stride.  Podiatrists (feet doctor) caution that neglecting one's feet can lead to incessant pain, infection and other foot problems particularly this rainy season.

Keeping our feet pain-free is surprisingly easy.  Healthy measures include good hygiene, self-examinations, and proper fitting shoes and socks.

The following are tips to keep our feet in best form :

How to Quit Smoking?

I am not a smoker nor I dare to try smoking, but I know lots of people who smoke.  There are many reasons why people smoke; for some it's a great ice breaker, it gives you time to think, the feeling of first puff in the morning is incomparable and, most of all, you look cool ( to some people, but not to all).

Tips on Losing Weight after the Holidays

All of you will agree to me if I say that you've gained more pounds after the Holiday season.  Who can resist the temptation of "hamon, lechon, salads and more?"  So to regain back our figure (naks) here are some tips to be followed.

Eat Right.  Choose foods that are nutritious and good for your body like lean meats, soy foods, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits and whole grains.  Avoid fried foods, too much salt and too much sweet or sugar.  Do not skip meals.  Drink a lot of water throughout the day.  Use canola oil or olive oil when cooking instead of animal fat.  Use less sugar and salt in food preparation and when eating.(aw)
