October 15 is Global Handwashing day of 2012!

Health is wealth.  And washing our hands before handling food may prevent us from getting sick, thus can save our lives!

To help prevent spreading of diseases to other people, practice regular hand-washing. You have to wash your hands ten times everyday.

  • Before and after preparing or handling food, especially when handling uncooked poultry and meat
  • Before eating
  • After changing diapers
  • After using the bathroom
  • After sneezing, coughing, or blowing your nose
  • Before and after inserting contact lenses
  • After touching an animal or animal waste
  • After handling garbage
  • Before and after treating wounds
  • Before and after touching a sick or injured person
Handwashing with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent diarrhea and acute respiratory infections, which take the lives of millions of children in developing countries every year.

6 hand washing steps

Wet hands with warm water
Apply soap
Rub hands together for 20 seconds.
Don’t forget fingers
Rinse away all the soap
Dry hands with towel or warm air dryer
