Again, I've been invited to witness the awards night of Pony's Show Off 2 Digital and Art Competition held at 7th High, Bonifacio High Street, Global City in Taguig last November 21st. Like the first Pony Show Off held last year, it was still a star-studded night.
The event was hosted by Internet action star and “ultimate heartthrob” Ramon Bautista and DJ Leeza of DWLS FM.
The program started so late but still worth the wait coz hubby won a prize from Ideal Vision and finally meet the other Ramon. :)
The band Absolute Play heated the stage with their music. I also spotted FHM Sexiest Ms.Paloma, and no doubt she's really a hottie!
Pony is an American brand of
footwear and apparel founded in Brooklyn ,
New York in 1972. Pony has since
become a top global athletic brand and, by the ‘80s, its sales figures have
reached over US$800 million. At this point, champion athletes in the World Cup,
Super Bowl, NBA and the likes had been seen wearing Pony.
With its rebel streak and fiercely
unique character, Pony became the
brand known for espousing individuality, freedom of expression and living up to
one’s potential. These are also the very ideals at the core of the Pony “Show
Off” competition, which is already in its second year in the country.
More creators and designers heeded
the challenge put up by PONY FOOTWEAR when the brand launched the “Pony Show
Off 2: Poster Art and Digital Film Competition.” Tasked to interpret the
tagline “Let’s Get It On” using images, digital design, creative videos and a
short narrative, hundreds of entries have been submitted but only a few were
hailed as the best of the best. Most of the entries submitted truly captured
the spirit of the brand, as well as the character of those who wear it—two
important criteria in the judging.
The floor became even hotter when Kitchie Nadal performed on the stage with her song "Same Ground".
Special Awards goes to: Best
Illustration to Rolan Gutierrez and his poster art entry “Break The Silence”;
Best Cinematography for the digital film entry “Mating Season” by Ralph Aldrin
Quijano; and acting award called Most Astig Performer in Digital Film to Miguel
Reyes who played Nuynuy in Sandra Santiago’s entry “Dollhouse”; and the Ideal
Visionary award to Sean Patrick Si for his “40 Ways To Use Pony” entry.
Barbie Almalbis was the last to perform that night.
The online votes translated
to the other two special awards given to the entries with the most number of
“Likes” on Facebook. For the Poster Art category, this recognition was given to
“Footsicle” by Paul Andrew Vito; for the Digital Film category, to “40 Ways To
Use Pony” by Sean Patrick Si.
