Last night, I received text from my cousin saying that Dolphy passed away. I don't believe him at first because there are lot of nuisance reports regarding his death. But suddenly, there's a breaking news confirming that he really passed away at the age of 83, two weeks before his 84th birthday after battling with pneumonia in 11 months at Makati Medical Center. :(
I'm sure that the whole showbiz industry as well as most of the people in the country mourns as one of the icons of Philippine Cinema succumb to his illness.
Rodolfo Vera Quizon also known as Dolphy (Comedy King) was born on July 25, 1928. He started in showbiz as a stage performer and later discovered by Fernando Poe Sr. to be an actor. Aside from his numerous films he also lead the longest running tv sitcom "John and Marcia" in 1970's-1980's and "Home along The Riles" in 1992-2003.

His remains were brought to the Heritage Park in Taguig and his burial has been tentatively scheduled on Sunday.
The report said Dolphy's remains were to be brought to the Dolphy Theater in Quezon City at 1 p.m., where a public viewing would be held at 9 p.m.
His remains would then be brought back to the Heritage Park at 3 a.m. Thursday. A public viewing at the Heritage Park would be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
